Q: Who are Laminate-it!
A: We are a company, set up in 2009, by Mike and Anji Patterson which specialises in distributing the Leitz iLam range of hot lamination machines in addition to the Xyron range of cold lamination machines and consumables. Mike has extensive experience of this range, having spent almost 3 years as Xyron’s European Commercial Director, prior to setting up his own business specialising in selling this great range of laminators and consumables.
Q: I’m concerned about Internet fraud, so can you assure me that your site is safe and secure?
A: The Laminate-it website uses 256bit encryption when transferring your personal data including your credit/debit card details to ensure 100% secure transactions. All payments are handled by SagePay (a Sage company) and we do not hold your card details.
Q: How do I find the most appropriate Leitz and Xyron products for me?
A: There are a number of ways to do this. You can either click on the main product image on the Home page and this will then take you through to a section that provides more information. Alternatively, click on the product name, listed down the left hand side of the Home page or use the search facility located at the very top of the Home page.
Q: What are the benefits of the Xyron cold lamination system compared to traditional hot lamination?
A: There are many, many benefits. The main one is the fact that the Xyron system does not need heat, electricity or battery power to laminate items or even laminate one side and apply adhesive to the reverse. Just click on the header ‘20 reasons to choose cold lamination instead of hot lamination’, located towards the bottom of the left hand side of the Home Page, to see all of the other benefits.
Q: I’m not sure what hot and cold lamination could be used for. Where can I find details?
A: There’s a section headed ‘101 Laminations’ at the top of the Home page. Click on this to see a list of examples. You can see visual examples just by clicking on the highlighted text.
Q: How do I find out which Xyron cold lamination machine and consumables would most meet my requirements?
A: There are 5 machines within the Xyron range and these are featured on the Home Page. Just click on these to get more information. Generally, though, it really depends upon what size item you wish to laminate or laminate and apply adhesive. Here’s a quick summary:
- The A6 lamination machine can take items up to 5’’ wide and is ideal for use at home, in schools, and for protecting photographs or special family memorabilia, making craft items, cards, bookmarks or even fridge magnets!
- The A4 lamination machine is ideal for laminating items that are standard copier paper in width and is therefore perfect for use in virtually every situation at home or in the workplace.
- The A3 lamination machine handles items up to about 12’’ in width. It can be used when either larger documents or large volumes need to be laminated, possibly for outdoor use, or for protecting banners or artwork.
- The A1 lamination machine is perfect for laminating and protecting any document, plan, poster, map etc up to 25’’ in width.
- The A0 lamination machine handles wide format documents, such as posters, maps, point of sale material etc up to 44’’ in width. Due to its size this machine does require electricity to push the item through the machine. It still, however, is a cold lamination system and so does not need heat to bond the laminate.
Q: How many laminated sheets can I get from each cartridge and roll?:

Q: How do I buy product on line?
A: Once you have decided on your product purchase, simply add the product to your basket, using the ‘add to cart’ button. You can then either proceed to the checkout section or continue shopping until you have found everything that you need.
At the checkout you will be asked to confirm your name, address and delivery details. You will then have a choice of payment method. Simply follow the instructions to confirm.
We will then email you an order acknowledgement, detailing the products that you have ordered. We will then follow this with another email at the time of despatch.
Q: Which payment methods are available?
A: All major credit and debit cards can be used. These are occasionally subject to validation and authorisation checks. If the issuer of your card refuses to authorise payment to us we will contact you immediately. We will not be liable for any costs relating to the delay or non delivery of goods as a result of such a refusal.
Although Laminate-it! is primarily a transactional website, that accepts most major credit and debit cards, we are also able to accept payment by cheque, (payable to ‘Laminate-it!’) although, in this case, delivery of goods could take in excess of 14 working days.
Q: How quickly will I receive my goods?
A: Most orders will be delivered within 5-7 working days using UK Mail or other courier services. Next day delivery is also available, provided that orders are placed before 3pm on the prior day. Please note, though, that there are exceptions during holiday periods and to some non mainland locations. Please contact us if you require specific delivery information.
Q: Is delivery free of charge?
A: Yes if the total value of your order is in excess of £100 (excluding vat). All other orders will be charged at £4.99 for deliveries within 5 to 7 working days or £9.99 for next day courier delivery. All prices exclude vat.
Some delivery charges for Scottish Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland and the Scilly Isles will incur additional charges. These are shown within the website but please call us if you need any additional information. Unfortunately we are unable to deliver to Channel Islands at present.
Q: Can I cancel my order and return the goods?
A: Yes, provided that you confirm this with us, in writing, within 14 working days from receipt of goods. The goods must be unused and still in their original packaging. All return delivery charges will, however, be your responsibility.
If the goods arrive damaged you should contact us as soon as possible and we will arrange to have the goods collected and either replaced or credited.
Q: What happens to any information that I have given you?
A: We will only collect and store information that complies with the Data Protection Act 1998. We will not sell or rent this information to any other 3rd party. See the Privacy Policy section for more information.
